What travellers say
Tour of Do Dham — Yamunotri & Gangotri for 7 days. Overall arrangements were very good. Our darshan at both Yamunotri and Gangotri was very nice, the hotels were good and our coordinator stayed in touch throughout and even met us personally at Dehradun.

From the houseboat in Srinagar to the camp at Pangong, every stay was comfortable and our driver Bashir knew every photo stop on the Zojila road. The team checked on us every evening and handled a landslide delay without any stress for us.

Our guide Karma paced the Tiger’s Nest climb perfectly and knew every story behind the dzongs. Punakha in spring was beautiful and the hotels were warm and spotless.

View all storiesAbout Incredible India
Interesting and intriguing, India offers incredible holiday experiences through its culture, landscapes and wildlife. Few countries pack so much variety into one trip: snow-capped Himalayan passes, the golden Thar desert, palm-fringed backwaters, tiger forests and 7,500 km of coastline.
India is also a country of architectural masterpieces. The Taj Mahal draws most first-time visitors, but there are thousands of forts, palaces, step-wells and temples — from the rock-cut caves of Ajanta and Ellora to the Sun Temple at Konark and the ruined city of Hampi.
Its diverse topography — the Himalaya, long stretches of coastline, hot and cold deserts, dense forests, alpine meadows and lakes — makes it ideal for adventure: trekking, rafting, paragliding, skiing and diving are all within reach. More than 100 national parks protect Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinos, Asiatic lions and snow leopards.
Whatever your travel style, there is an India holiday for you — and our verified partners can tailor it to your dates and budget.

Climate & Season
India’s size and geography give it a wide range of climates. Broadly there are four seasons: summer (March–June), the south-west monsoon (June–September), the post-monsoon autumn (October–November) and winter (December–February). The Himalaya shelter the plains from Central Asian winds, so the climate changes a great deal from north to south and from the coast to the hills.
Summer runs from March to mid-June. The northern plains can reach 40–45°C, so this is the season for hill stations such as Shimla, Manali, Munnar and Darjeeling, and for Ladakh and Spiti once the passes open.
From mid-June to September the south-west monsoon brings heavy rain. Kerala, Goa and the Western Ghats turn emerald green, and Ladakh and Spiti stay dry in the rain shadow.
December to February is pleasant in the plains and the south — ideal for Rajasthan, the Golden Triangle, Goa and Kerala — while Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand get snow.
Visa Information
Most foreign visitors need a visa to enter India. Many nationalities can apply online for an e-Visa (tourist, business or medical) and should do so at least four days before arrival; you will need a passport valid for six months, a recent photo and a scan of your passport page.
Apply only on the official Indian e-Visa website and beware of look-alike sites that charge extra. Some regions, such as parts of Ladakh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and the Andaman Islands, also need permits — your travel partner can arrange them. Read more in our travel tips.
